Who loves a red carpet event and belly dance shows? We certainly do! So we have scheduled 3 special events and performances for #bellycon23!

Performer applications are now open for the Friday and Saturday night performance events.

Welcome Event and Keynote Presentation

Thursday July 6th, 7pm,
Welcome To Brunswick, 408 Sydney Rd Brunswick

Walk the red carpet at our welcome dinner event at Welcome To Brunswick. The Welcome Dinner is our first chance to connect as a community across the weekend.

Our guest presenter is Indigenous Outreach Projects. They are a local First Nation dance team who focuses on connecting communities with different cultures through dance. They have been working on this for the past 15y and have received many accolades for their work to connect cultures using indigenous dance. They will be presenting some of their work and also answer questions about how we can all work to help bridge cultural divides (which is something as dancers, we encounter regularly).

Also at the event, the committee will be introducing how the weekend will work, plus answering all your questions about the Convention, including how a Convention is different to a festival, where the idea was born and anything else you’d like to know.

Return to Zerzura Show

Friday July 7th, 8pm
Brunswick Town Hall, 233 Sydney Rd, Brunswick

Come on a magical tour to the lost lands of Zezura with an evening of dance and music. This show will feature some of Australia’s most amazing dancers and is not to be missed!

Bellycon Bazaar Open Stage

Sunday July 9th 10am – 3 pm
Brunswick Town Hall, 233 Sydney Rd, Brunswick

The Bellycon Bazaar Open Stage is a great opportunity to practice your performance skills! Open to all, from students to professionals; groups and soloists.

This is a great opportunity to really get creative with your performance or costuming or try that new choreography you have been working on!
