WAMED Festival

The Western Australia Middle Eastern Dance Festival is the Convention Hosts for 2026. Originally formed in 2000 by Keti Sharif, the event has been carefully handed through different dancers to the current trio who look after the great legacy of WA belly dancing.

The team are taking a step back from organising an event in 2026 and are teaming up with the Convention as hosts, to bring our exciting event to the west coast of Australia.

Alma Sarhan Photography

Alma Sarhan’s photography needs no introduction as she is one of the top dance bellydance photographers in the country. Her work was a regular feature in Bellydance Oasis Magazine and she has photographed the WAMED concerts for many years.

She specialises in photographing dancers (in particular belly dancers), musicians and cats.
